Can Typing of the Dead: Overkill Improve My Typing?

I recently picked up Typing of the Dead: Overkill during a Steam sale. The game is an on-rail shooter that uses typed words as control inputs for killing zombies. The storyline is exactly the same as the Wii game House of the Dead: Overkill, but the typing mechanic added enough "new" to pique my interests.

Why would I want to kill a zombie by typing instead of using the tried and true kb+m combo? Because it might improve my muscle memory and turn me into a better typist, of course! So in the interest of posting on my blog, and performing a completely unscientific study, I'm going to measure my typing speed and accuracy, play Typing of the Dead: Overkill for one full playthrough, and then measure my typing speed and accuracy again. The graphic above shows my current standard according to TypingTest.com. We'll see how I do after a playthrough of Typing of the Dead: Overkill.
